Bay Islands Overland & Sea is a Roatán tourism business bringing together island excursions and experiences on the water. Whether you are arriving on a cruise ship for the day or spending a longer holiday here, we want you to see more of the island and enjoy the time you have.

There is more to Roatán than a beautiful beach. There are coastlines to explore, local communities to discover and moments on the water that stay with you long after your visit. Our tours are designed to help guests find the experiences that suit their interests and their schedule.

We believe a good island day should feel like your own, not like you are rushing through somebody else's itinerary.

Our roots

A family connected to the sea for generations.

For generations, fishing has been part of the Johnson family's life in the Bay Islands. Knowledge of the sea and the work that comes with it has passed from father to son, becoming part of the family's story and its connection to Roatán.

Bay Islands Overland & Sea grows from that island heritage. It is an opportunity to welcome visitors to a place the family knows as home and share what makes a day on Roatán worth remembering.

Meet the founder

Captain Johnson

Captain Johnson is a Master Mariner with 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. His work has included commanding offshore support vessels, tugboats and towboats, as well as anchor handling operations.

His maritime career extends far beyond the Bay Islands. He remains active in the industry, with work in Dubai, Qatar and Abu Dhabi.

That experience, alongside his family's generations of fishing heritage, brings a personal connection to the name Bay Islands Overland & Sea.
