Explore the day

Cayos Cochinos is a protected archipelago off Honduras’s Caribbean coast, known for its reefs, small islands and coastal communities.
Its cultural story is connected to the Garifuna people. Following their forced exile from Saint Vincent in 1797, Garifuna communities developed along the Caribbean coast of Central America, including Honduras. Chachahuate is part of this living heritage.
Visiting the islands offers a chance to appreciate both their natural environment and the communities that call them home.
